Make Money On the Net
Posted by admin on September 18, 2010
There are lots of different ways to make money on the net.
The BEST way I have found to make money on the net is to do something you enjoy.
A blog can make this possible. For instance, let’s say that you really enjoy Civil War weapons, love talking about them, and love checking out replica’s online, etc.
You can start a blog talking about this topic, and put related ads on the site that will earn you extra cash!
How to start a blog to make money on the net:
1. You can start a FREE blog online through Blogger.com. I recommend this for beginners that don’t want to pay for a website. Blogger.com is owned by Google, and is completely free. You pick what you want your blog address to be, such as “Gary’s Civil War Weaponry”. Blogger appends “.blogspot.com” to that internet address (url) so your website could be http://garyscivilwarweaponry.blogspot.com.
Once you go through the very simple setup process, you can start writing posts immediately. And, you don’t have to be a “writer” per se, but just someone with something to say about a particular topic. I see all kinds of blogs by everyday people all the time.
To begin making money on the net with your blog, you can do 2 quick things, and Blogger makes this super easy.
The first thing you do is sign up for a Google Adsense account. It is completely free and allows you to put content relevant ads on your site. If someone clicks on one of those ads, you earn money. Once you earn $100 in your account (I’ve done this multiple times), you get a check from Google. Pretty simple huh?
The second thing you do is sign up for an Amazon.com affiliate account. This is also free, and easy to do through Blogger. If you have the Civil war weapons blog, then I recommend having Amazon ads about the Civil War era, replicas, books, etc.
This is where the magic happens. Since people are coming to your blog about that topic, and you have ads related to that topic, there is a good chance that people will either click on the related ads, or possibly make a purchase through Amazon, which earns you a commission.
NOW you’re making money on the net!
Having a blog won’t necessarily make you rich, but can be an excellent way to earn extra cash, and what better way to earn extra cash than doing something you enjoy?
2. You can also start a blog where you get to pick your own domain (.com, .net, etc) and don’t have the appending “.blogspot.com” on it. So your domain could now be http://garyscivilwarweaponry.com.
This method does cost money, but it’s relatively inexpensive. For example, I use godaddy web hosting and it costs me around $5 per month for the web hosting account, and around $12 per YEAR for the domain (.com, .net, etc). That’s pretty affordable!
The advantage of having a blog like this is that it shows you are a little more serious about your blog since you are actually paying for it. This can increase your site’s credibility somewhat.
And to be honest, I’ve made much more money with a paid blog than I ever have with a Blogger account. Again, I only mention the Blogger method as a way of getting your feet wet. Blogging isn’t for everyone since it does require you to put up at least 3-4 posts per week once you get it going, and possibly even one per day at the very beginning to get some content out there.
Traffic
Internet traffic is the lifeline of your blog. Myriads of articles, gurus, books, etc are out there talking about internet traffic. It makes sense that the more visitors you get to your blog, the better your odds are at making money from a sale or click. If you get no traffic, you make no money. It’s that simple.
So how do you get traffic?
You can do what I did, and read and read and read and read and read all of the information available online for free, and hopefully figure it out. OR, you can be more wise than I was and check out this site that tells you what you need to know and save yourself a lot of reading time and effort. I use the techniques in this site to make money on the net.

(Note: before you purchase a domain (.com, etc), check out this site first because you might change your idea for your domain from reading this information).
